  • STAR CEMENT SHIELD - HYDRO is a nano-based liquid waterproofing admixture added to concrete or mortar during mixing to enhance water resistance and prevent water penetration of the plastered / screed surface. It offers protection against water seepage and staining on walls and surfaces for several years, preserving the pristine condition of the surfaces.

    Star Cement Shield - Hydro is a hydro/aqua version of
    the popular Star Water Shield, but with a silicon-based added twist, hence
    making it more powerful in repelling water and keeping your plastered surfaces looking great.

     

    Star Cement Shield – Hydro can be used in a variety of applications, including
    below-grade structures, swimming pools, and water tanks. Unlike external
    membranes, this admixture cannot be torn or damaged during backfill operations.

How to apply

  • Prepare the surface

    The plastered surface must be free from dust, clean, dry, and free from any loose dust or impurities.

  • Mix the product

    Mix Star Cement Shield - Hydro with cement or mortar in a recommended dosage ratio as per manufacturer's recommendation.

  • Apply the mixture

      ● Mix cement, aggregates, and sand and dry mix
    ● Add 50-70 % of the required water and mix the mass to make it moist.
    ● Add Star Cement Shield-hydro to the remaining water and mix. Pour it in the mixing drum and mix the entire quantity for 3 minutes to achieve a homogenous mix
    ● Pour the mixture on a tray and check the slump for desired workability.
    ● Use as per requirement and lay the concrete
    ● Cure as per normal procedure by ponding/ curing compound.

  • Allow drying and curing

    Allow the coating that has been applied to dry and cure as instructed by the manufacturer before it gets exposed to water.

Precautions

1. Read Instructions Carefully:

2. Protective Gear:

  • Wear appropriate protective gear such as gloves and safety goggles to prevent skin contact and eye irritation.

3. Ventilation:

  • Ensure that there is adequate ventilation provided in the sprayed area. Fumes should be able to disperse in an efficient manner. One can use fans or open up windows indoors to ensure that the air is flowing smoothly.
  • It should not be inhaled. If it becomes necessary to be placed in an enclosed space, then wear an appropriate mask for chemical fumes.

4. Avoid Inhalation:

  • Avoid breathing in the fumes. If working in an enclosed space, consider wearing a mask suitable for chemical fumes.
