Working Principle

  • The primary mechanism behind the waterproofing capability of Star Aqua Seal is the formation of a continuous film that acts as a physical barrier against water penetration. When an epoxy coating is applied, the liquid formulation undergoes a curing process, typically through solvent evaporation or chemical reaction. 

    The material cures to provide a hygienic and tough finish which is suitable for contact with potable water and foodstuffs. It is available in white and other colours. Star Aqua Seal Food Grade Epoxy is resistant to corrosion and chemical attack and also antifungal.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Surface Preparation

    The surface should be clean, dry, and free of any loose material or contaminants

  • Protect industrial roofs with Star Water Seal - Industrial: Ideal for internal, and external applications.

    Mixing

    1. Two component Food Grade Epoxy based waterproofing coating Star Aqua Seal shall be thoroughly mixed and stirred for at least 2 minutes using a slow speed (300-400 RPM) drill machine attached with a mixing paddle to achieve a homogeneous mix.
    2. Retempering with water or solvent should not be done.

  • Application

    1. Coat of Star Aqua Seal (recommended colour variant-blue) shall be applied in two or more coats by brush, roller or spray on the floor and wall for a DFT of 1000 microns from the finished surface level.
    2. Ensure that there is no traffic movement over the coated surface for 48 hours and it will take 5 days for the coated surface to be fully cured.
