How to Apply
How to Apply Star Wood Shield Water Based in 3 Steps
Apply with a brush, roller or spray at 10-35°C in a well-ventilated area.
Surface Preparation
A clean, sound surface with a good mechanical key is the goal. Remove dust, plaster, oil, paint, grease, deposits and any other harmful materials. There must be no water residue on the surface, and moisture should be below 12% for optimal adhesion. Sand the wood to a smooth finish (120-150 grit).
Mixing
Shake Star Wood Shield briefly until homogeneous, then pour Part A and Part B into the mixing container in a ratio of 5:1. Mix thoroughly for at least 2 minutes using a slow speed (300-400 RPM) drill with a mixing paddle.
Application
Apply Star Wood Shield using a brush, roller or spray onto the wood surface. Two coats are recommended.

What is Star Wood Shield Water Based?
Star Wood Shield Water Based is a nano-technology-based, water-based wood protective coating that enhances the durability, aesthetics and longevity of wooden surfaces.
Which woods and surfaces can I use it on?
It suits natural wood finishing including teak, oak, pine and cedar, and is used on furniture, doors and windows, hardwood floors, decks and patios, pergolas and gazebos, boats and yachts, musical instruments, and art and craft projects.
What is the coverage?
Coverage is 90-110 sq.ft. per litre per coat on new wood and 120-140 sq.ft. per litre per coat on repaint. 2 coats are recommended.
How long does it take to dry?
Touch dry in 30 minutes at 25°C and 50% RH, with a recoat interval of 2-4 hours at 25°C. Full cure takes 7 days for maximum performance.
How do I mix and apply it?
Mix Part A and Part B in a 5:1 ratio for at least 2 minutes at 300-400 RPM, then apply by brush, roller or spray at 10°C to 35°C in a well-ventilated area.
Does it protect against UV, moisture and mold?
Yes. It contains UV absorbers to minimize color fading, forms a barrier against moisture to prevent swelling, warping and rot, and inhibits mildew, mold and fungi.
Is it eco-friendly?
Yes. It is a water-based, low odor formula with VOC content below 50 g/L.
What is the shelf life and warranty?
Storage stability is 24 months in a sealed container at 5-35°C. It carries a 1 year performance warranty.
Will it change the look of my wood?
No. It preserves the natural grain and colour of the wood and provides a clear or translucent finish.
