Applications
Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation
Star Insulation Foam
High-Performance Insulation Spray for Every Surface
Star Insulation Foam is a spray polyurethane foam system engineered for roofs, walls, tanks, and industrial structures. This insulation spray suits builders, contractors, and facility owners who need a fast, seamless thermal barrier without the gaps and seams of traditional materials. As a leading insulation spray solution, it expands on contact to fill cavities completely, blocking heat transfer and moisture infiltration in one application. Unlike batt or board insulation, this insulation spray bonds directly to almost any surface, cutting installation time while delivering long-term energy savings and protection.
Star Insulation Foam gives builders, contractors, and facility owners a dependable, single-application solution for thermal insulation, air sealing, and moisture resistance combined. By bonding directly to metal, concrete, wood, and most construction substrates, it eliminates the gaps and thermal bridging common with traditional insulation, delivering long-lasting energy savings across roofs, walls, and industrial structures alike.
Benefits of Using Star Insulation Foam
- Closed-cell PU foam structure delivers superior thermal resistance and a high R-value per inch.
- Rapid-expansion insulation spray seals gaps, cracks, and joints within seconds of application.
- Seamless, jointless coverage eliminates thermal bridging across roofs, walls, and irregular surfaces.
- Strong adhesion to metal, concrete, wood, and most common construction substrates.
- Built-in moisture resistance that doubles as a reliable waterproofing layer.
- Lightweight, rigid foam adds structural stiffness without overloading roofs or walls.

The Problem
Insulation Challenges Star Insulation Foam Solves
High Heat Transfer Through Roofs & Walls
Uninsulated buildings absorb excessive heat, making indoor spaces uncomfortable and increasing cooling costs. Star Insulation Foam creates a seamless thermal barrier that significantly reduces heat transfer.
Air Leaks & Moisture Infiltration
Gaps, cracks, and joints allow air and moisture to enter, leading to energy loss, condensation, and potential structural damage. The expanding foam seals cavities completely to provide superior insulation and moisture resistance.
High Energy Bills & Inefficient Insulation
Traditional insulation materials can leave gaps or settle over time, reducing their effectiveness. Star Insulation Foam bonds directly to surfaces, delivering long-lasting insulation that improves energy efficiency and lowers HVAC operating costs.
Benefits
6 Reasons Star Insulation Foam Delivers Superior Insulation
Star Insulation Foam combines seamless expansion, strong adhesion, and chemical resistance to protect roofs, walls, and industrial structures from heat transfer while lowering energy costs.
Maximum Thermal Insulation
Star Insulation Foam creates a seamless insulation layer that eliminates thermal bridges and air gaps, reducing heat transfer for better indoor comfort and significant energy savings.
Fast & Easy Installation
Its fast-reacting spray formula expands instantly and adheres to horizontal and vertical surfaces without sagging, reducing installation time and labor costs.
Seamless, Leak-Free Protection
Unlike traditional insulation boards, the foam forms a continuous, joint-free barrier that prevents air leakage, moisture penetration, and heat loss.
Strong Adhesion & High Durability
The foam bonds firmly to the substrate, preventing water from collecting behind the insulation while providing excellent wind uplift resistance and high compressive strength for long-lasting performance.
Excellent Chemical & Moisture Resistance
Star Insulation Foam withstands exposure to weak acids, alkalis, seawater, industrial gases, mineral oils, petrol, and diesel, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.
Safe, Sustainable & Cost-Effective
Its solvent-free formulation improves application safety, while its ability to be applied over existing roof surfaces minimizes demolition, reduces refurbishment time, and lowers overall project costs.
How to Apply
Method of Application
Surface Preparation
Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, loose particles, and other contaminants. Repair cracks, voids, and uneven areas before application. Very porous surfaces should be sealed with a suitable primer. Maintain a substrate temperature of at least +10°C (preferably +15°C) for proper adhesion.
Equipment & Application
Apply Star Insulation Foam using a specialized two-component high-pressure spray polyurethane foam (SPF) machine. Ensure the equipment is preheated to 35–50°C with a mixing pressure of 100–110 bar for consistent foam formation and adhesion.
Layering & Curing
Spray the foam in 10–50 mm thick layers, allowing multiple coats to achieve the required insulation thickness. Avoid application during damp or adverse weather conditions, as high humidity can affect foam quality, adhesion, and mechanical strength.

What Our Customers Say
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is insulation spray used for?
Insulation spray is used to create a seamless thermal and moisture barrier on roofs, walls, tanks, and ducts, reducing heat transfer and preventing leaks in residential and industrial buildings.
How long does insulation spray last?
A properly applied insulation spray can last 20–30 years with minimal maintenance, since the cured closed-cell foam resists moisture, cracking, and UV degradation when protected with a topcoat.
Is insulation spray waterproof?
Yes, this insulation spray forms a closed-cell structure that is inherently water-resistant, making it effective for both thermal insulation and waterproofing on roofs and tanks.
How is pu foam spray different from other insulation?
Pu foam spray expands on application to fill gaps completely, unlike boards or blankets that leave seams. This gives it higher thermal efficiency and better moisture resistance overall.
Can insulation spray be applied to metal roofs?
Yes, insulation spray bonds strongly to metal, concrete, and wood, making it ideal for metal roofing, warehouses, and prefabricated structures needing quick thermal protection.
How thick should insulation spray be applied?
Thickness depends on the required R-value and climate, but insulation spray is typically applied between 25mm and 50mm for standard roof and wall insulation projects.
Does polyurethane insulation spray foam need a topcoat?
Yes, applying a protective topcoat over polyurethane insulation spray foam shields it from UV exposure and mechanical damage, extending its service life significantly.
How quickly does polyurethane expanding foam cure?
Polyurethane expanding foam begins expanding within seconds of application and cures to a tack-free, rigid state within minutes, allowing fast project turnaround.
Is insulation spray safe for cold storage and food-related buildings?
Yes, insulation spray is widely used in cold storage and refrigeration units because it maintains stable internal temperatures and resists moisture buildup effectively.
Can insulation spray reduce energy bills?
Yes, insulation spray significantly reduces heat gain and loss through roofs and walls, lowering HVAC usage and cutting energy bills over time.
