How to Apply
Method of Application
Surface Preparation
Start with sound, clean concrete. Grind or scarify the surface to remove laitance, old coatings, oil, and dust, then pre-soak the floor with water until it is damp with no standing water. A properly prepared, damp surface is the secret to a strong bond and even colour.
Mixing
Add about 3.4 litres of clean water per 25 kg bag — water first, then powder — and mix with a slow-speed drill mixer for 3 minutes until smooth and lump-free. Measure the water with a jug every time; keeping the dose identical bag-to-bag is what keeps the colour perfectly uniform.
Laying & Finishing
Scrub a thin coat of the mixed mortar into the damp surface, then lay the main layer wet-on-wet to level using screed rails. Compact and close the surface with a steel trowel or power float — smooth for interiors, broom-textured for ramps and wet areas.
Curing
Within 20–30 minutes of finishing, apply a curing compound evenly (or cover with polyethylene sheet) and cure for at least 3 days. Shade fresh work from harsh afternoon sun and protect it from rain or dew for the first 4 hours for a flawless, uniform finish.
